EDI Standards

The first e-Commerce standards developed by the OPEI e-Commerce Committee were begun in 1996 and based on American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards. The accredited committee for the development and maintenance of these standards is the ASC X12 Committee.

The usage of these national standards by the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry is defined by the following Implementation Guidelines. These guidelines specify exactly how the full ASC X12 standards are to be employed within this industry. Users can overlay the OPEI implementation guidelines onto the full national standards to determine what is and is not used in this industry.
