Twin Cylinder vs. Single Cylinder Engine Design
A Word About Two-Cycle And Four-Cycle Gasoline Engines Throughout this guide, you will find references to four-cycle and two-cycle engines. Four-cycle engines operate by creating combustion from gasoline fed into the carburetion system where the fuel mixture is ignited by a spark plug to power the engine's pistons. On a four-cycle engine, oil is stored in a separate chamber to provide lubrication to moving parts. Two-cycle oil is specially formulated to be pre-mixed and stored in the gas can before being added to the equipment's fuel tank. Also, remember that using a non-spill container can be environmentally helpful. Two-cycle oil is available from outdoor power equipment dealers, and the lawn and garden sections of discount chains, home centers and hardware stores.
