John P. Mowder Elected Secretary/Treasurer Of The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute

Napa, California, June 23, 2000 --- John P. Mowder, President, Dixon Industries, Inc., was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) during the Association's 48th Annual Meeting in Napa, California.

Mr. Mowder has served in his present position of Dixon Industries, Inc., since 1996. He began his career with the company in 1976 and has held positions of increasing responsibility since that time. These include a position in sales, during which he traveled worldwide; Marketing Manager; Vice President of Marketing; and, just prior to being name s President, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager.

A native of Coffeyville, Kansas, Mr. Mowder earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1976.

Mr. Mowder served a prior term on the OPEI Board of Directors from 1997 to 1999 during which he was Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee. He also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Dixon Industries, Inc.

The Secretary/Treasurer of OPEI oversees the financial activities of the trade association and serves as Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee. Mr. Mowder's term is for one year in accordance with OPEI bylaws.

OPEI is a trade association whose membership is primarily composed of U.S. manufacturers of powered lawn and garden maintenance products, components and attachment supplies, as well as industry-related services. OPEI's domestic members manufacture in excess of 95% of the U.S. consumer retail market for gas and electric powered lawn and garden maintenance products.
