OPEI To Highlight EDI Awareness At EXPO 2000
Theme: "Dealer Computerization for the Electronic Commerce Era"

Alexandria, VA, June, 2000 --- The power of computerization in dealerships will be highlighted by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute's (OPEI) EDI Committee at EXPO 2000. As a primary participant in NAEDA's Technology Center, OPEI's EDI committee will sponsor a comprehensive educational program with a goal toward enhancing industry awareness of electronic commerce. Under the theme, "Dealer Computerization for the Electronic Era,: the program will include a booth display explaining EDI technology and benefits, and two educational seminars to be located on the Technology Center's Showtime Stage.

The sessions will take place at 1:00 pm both on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23, 2000, and will include an update on the evolution toward electronic commerce in the outdoor power equipment industry. Included both days will be a panel of business system developers who will help dealers focus on the true value of computerizing their business management functions. Dealers will get acquainted with the coming opportunities that electronic commerce offers at street level. Questions from the audience will be encouraged.

OPEI is a trade association whose membership is primarily composed of U.S. manufacturers of powered lawn and garden maintenance products, components and attachment supplies, as well as industry-related services. OPEI's domestic members manufacture in excess of 95% of the U.S. consumer retail market for gas and electric powered lawn and garden maintenance products.
