OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES 2001 OFFICERS/NEW DIRECTORS AND KEY COMMITTEE CHAIRMANSHIPS

Ponte Vedra, Florida, June 22, 2001-- The 2001 Board of Directors of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute was announced during the AssociationŐs 49th Annual Meeting at Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Serving on the Board this year will be: John P. Mowder, President, Dixon Industries, OPEI Chairman; William Docherty, Jr., Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, MTD Products, Inc., OPEI Vice-Chairman; L. Edward Shultz, President & CEO, Murray, Inc., OPEI Secretary/Treasurer; Michael S. Ariens, Chairman, Ariens Company; Stephen Bly, Vice President, Manufacturing, Echo Inc.; John J. Jenkins, President, World Wide Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division, John Deere & Company; James E. Martinco, Group Vice President, Tecumseh Products Company; Kendrick B. Melrose, Chairman & CEO, The Toro Company; David P. Rivers, Executive Vice President, Textron Golf, Turf and Specialty Products; Fred L. Whyte, President, Stihl Inc.; James A. Wier, President & Chief Executive Officer, Simplicity Manufacturing Company; David R. Zerfoss, President, Husqvarna Forest and Garden.
